keep thinking of writing something about my sexuality, that word usually is associated with whom one desire's I use it to express where I am at with sex and relationships. I guess that maybe the wrong thing. I am a straight woman, with a whole host of kinks, which has definately led me to a few problems.
In society you are led to either be puritanical or be viewed as a wanton whore, this double standard and dichotomy needs to be readdressed. As a woman with a real kinky side I hate feeling pigeon holed into and either/or position, because I am not and either/or. I can feel like a whore, I can feel like a virgin, I can feel masculine in desire and I can feel like an animal. I feel that I am multifaceted and therefore I feel this dichotomy is unfair, and very much non representative of me and I deeply suspect that of other women.
Women always had a modicum of control over their environment, until the advent of christianity to the western world. Following this and many edicts of the Catholic church, none less so than the portrayal of women as the dichotomous either/or women became chatel, property to be sold as in aquisitions and mergers deals. This went on and in some countries still does.
In the western world whilst women aren't chatel anymore we are still pigeon holed in the same our victorian foremothers, who were chatel. I am sick of it. Women are still held that if you are a virgin then if something like rape wasn't deserved, though there are many times public and judicial judgements are that women have led a man on, by the most innocent of gestures, a hand on an arm, or uncontrolable laughter.
But rape and violence are seen as acceptable in women who understad their sexualities, who experience their sexuality, this needs re-education in these people, but the fact that this attitude exists in the first place shows that there are deeper problems with society that somewhere along the line the view has been held and re-enforced, for it to still have prevelance for that particular person,
