How did I get from there to here,
Knowing without you I would be incomplete.
How did I traverse such a distance,
As is the time I’ve had without you.

A child I was,
Lost with out tether or anchor,
A weight by which the world could hold me
An Aching chasm encapsulating the fragile glass I was

But here I am from there
Still incomplete I am, better for knowing your grace
The time I traversed since losing you
A testament to lessons learnt the hard way

A child I am no more,
Tethered to myself and those around myself
My weight of personality holds me to the ground
A chasm bridged, by love that remains after loss

Fragile I was,
A child lost
Not knowing the love of self
The future blackened by desolation

But here I stand, a grown woman,
A soldier of life, a rock carried, but ever staying watching
Knowing self and falling for the person I am
A future brightened the knowledge of myself.

I am a lesson learnt the hard way
My life is a tool a gift to others
I am a beacon of light, no train I am
I am here to help you, so please, take my hand.
